Executive Summary

This report provides an aggregate inventory of artificial intelligence systems deployed across New Mexico state agencies as required by HB 184. As of the reporting date, 15 agencies have been tracked in the inventory system, with 5 having completed their submissions. A total of 55 AI systems have been registered, of which 20 are classified as consequential decision systems requiring enhanced oversight.

Department of Finance & Administration, Department of Transportation, Department of Workforce Solutions, General Services Department have not completed their AI inventory submissions by the initial deadline. DoIT recommends direct outreach and technical assistance to these agencies.

Incomplete Risk Assessments

30 of 55 registered systems have not completed their risk assessment. Priority should be given to the 20 consequential decision systems that directly affect individuals' rights and benefits.

Remaining Agencies

61 additional state agencies have not yet begun the registration process. DoIT will initiate onboarding sessions in the next quarter.
